A unique piece of shawl, embroidered with a unique technique called Papier Mache embroidery. The Papier Mache word has been derived from a French word that means “Chewed paper”. It is a composite substance created from paper stripes or glued in some manner. This style of embroidery is only done in the northwestern region of Jammu and Kashmir. This form of embroidery consists of the design of flowers and leaves. It involves creating three-dimensional shapes or designs using papier mache and then embellishing them with intricate embroidery.
