The foundation of the saree is an almost solid colour, the soft purple punctuated by sparsely placed gold booties. A border of moderate thickness woven with pure metallic thread of gold, known locally as zariwork, which extends into the field of the saree in closely juxtaposed triangles. Zoom in on the same to appreciate the luxuriance of the weave and the superior skill with which it has been executed. More than half the body of the endpiece is superimposed with the same zari weave, which is further embroidered with brilliantly coloured Indian birds such as parakeets and peacocks in their natural habitat.
