Revered with great devotion among her followers as “Tarobhava”- she who emanated from Tara, the Vajrayana goddess Kurukulla dances majestically in this black stone statue from Nepal. The deep shade of her lotus pedestal is marked by golden patterns, on which her Vishvapadmasana rests. A dormant body representing the evil that Kurukulla quells lies in her feet while the four-armed Tantric divinity aims her floral bow strikingly. The awe-inspiring detailing on the stone statue can be observed in the exquisiteness of the ornaments and the flaming tresses on which the icon of Adi Buddha appears.
