A Karma Patra is a sacred bowl used in many rituals in Nepalese culture. The most significant use of this bowl can be seen in the Gaudan ritual of the Chaurasi (84th Year of a Living Person) celebration. This Silver Karma Patra is a more decorative version of the rather simple bowl used by most people. This bowl contains the sacred symbols of the endless knot or Srivatsa, a mark of Goddess Lakshmi that is present on the chest of Lord Vishnu. This bowl also carries the symbols of Purna Kalash and Shanka all auspicious symbols that symbolise the bowl's role in bringing auspicious energy. This Karma Patra is a befitting ritual object for a regal celebration and also enriches the rituals with the goodness of the silver metal.
