In this dual-toned copper statue from Nepal, Green Tara, who is compassion and enlightenment personified, appears delightfully divine. The goddess is perched on a lovely lotus throne, her foot resting on a blossoming lotus. She wears the five-pronged Buddhist crown, a plethora of traditional Nepalese jewelry, and has an extravagant hairdo. This copper statue's creator did a superb job of capturing the delicateness of her clothing, giving it a beautiful aspect. The Vitarka (left) and Varada (right) mudras are represented by the two lotuses that Mother Tara is holding in her hands.
