There are lights without oil basins known as Anasaka lamps or lamps without any wick among the different varieties of lamps. During the sixteen-step Shodasha Upchara, these anasaka lights are utilized for Deeparathi. This brass lamp is a traditional Shodash Upchar Lamp with a Kirtimukha arch and five slots in the rear for inserting cotton wicks dipped in ghee. A Moosaka or Moonjur is sitting beneath the arch in the center. These lamps are also known as Vahana Aarti because of the presence of an image of the Vahana in front of the fire, giving the impression that the Vahana is paying homage to the god.
