Also known as “Narayana” or “Hari”, Vishnu is one of the most popularly worshipped gods in the Hindu pantheon. He is the supreme being in “Vaishnavism”, who creates, protects and transforms the universe. Around his neck, Vishnu wears the auspicious Kaustubha necklace. A crown is adorning his head. His four hands hold Shankha (Conch), Chakra (Discus), Gada (Mace). He is seen wearing two earrings. The earrings represent inherent opposites in creation –Knowledge and Ignorance; happiness and unhappiness; pleasure and pain. His right hand is extended in “Abhaya Mudra”, signifying fearlessness, courage and strength. Worshipping this manifestation that is sculpted in copper bestows blessings upon devotees.
