Kubera, a deity renowned across various religions, originally hails from Hinduism but finds his presence in Buddhism and Jainism as well. The name 'Kubera' in Sanskrit carries the connotation of being ill-shaped or deformed.
He is depicted as a dwarf with a generous belly, Kubera dons formidable armor and a necklace cascading down to his ample midsection. Sporting a commanding beard and mustache, these facial features symbolize his authority in both bestowing blessings and administering punishments. Signifying his triumph over the Nāgas, guardians of treasures, Kubera is typically portrayed alongside a mongoose, which is shown spitting out precious gold jewels. Bedecked with lengthy earrings and opulent necklaces, Kubera embodies his role as the lord of wealth and abundance. Seated in a meditative posture with one leg gracefully extended, he rests upon a moon disc atop a lotus pedestal.
