A youthful Lord Krishna stands upon a stylised lotus pedestal in all His glory. His signature tribhanga stance - body bent (bhanga) at three (tri) junctures, ankle, hip, and shoulder - is set off by the gracious halo that frames His divine head.
Engraved with curvaceous lotus petals, it serves to bring out the perfect symmetry of His features. The same has been sculpted with the deepest skill and shraddha on the part of the artisan. A composure of wisdom and benevolence characterises the childlike beauty of His countenance.
While the Lord makes divine music on His flute, a peacock is overwhelmed by the strain and pecks lovingly at His feet. Its flapping plumage is indicative of the pleasure the music is giving it. Note the eye and the bit of plume on its head, the sheer attention to detail that characterises the composition. The glamour of the peacock is complemented by the ample proportions of silk and shringar on the Lord. The image of Lord Krishna inspires the truly devoted to reach out to Him with unflinching fervour.
