The Lord of kriya-shakti (divine action) and iccha-shakti (power of will), Kumara Kartikeya is a young god of war and wisdom.
Revered as a youthful divine, Kumara’s adolescent form is highlighted by his slender body and blissful expressions on his young face.
Wearing a crown and a tasseled dhoti, Murugan stands with one hand in Abhaya (fearlessness) and the other in Varada (offering boons).
Kartikeya’s vahana, the Mayura, has a lovely fierceness in its attitude. As a representation of Murugan's fury and might, the Mayura seems vigilant and quick to destroy its fiercest adversaries, the serpents.
