Glowing like a golden lotus, goddess Lakshmi appears in her most auspicious form in this superfine icon.

Pure brass is crafted into a sacred idol for the goddess, who sits in Padmasana, dressed in a rich saree, fine ornaments, crown with a solar halo, carrying a pot of wealth in her lap, representing her aspect as “Dhana-Lakshmi”, the bestower of luxuries.

Tiny images of elephants are etched on the pedestal of Lakshmi, each raising its trunk to praise the goddess.

The icon is sculpted in a rounded manner, with fine details visible on the reverse, making this miniature idol an example of the artist’s superior craft and devotion.
