Ilaiya Perumal (the Ageless Vishnu) popularly known as Ramanujan or Ramanujacharya was a 12th century CE Indian philosopher and theologian whose devotion to Lord Vishnu drove him into a strive with a powerful king of South India but also helped him come up with a new school of thought within the Vedanta tradition known as Vishishta- Advaita or qualified non-dualism.
Ramanujan believed that the aatman and parmatman were like the human body and soul. Virtually there is no difference between the two, yet the soul serves the body. This is how the aatman was to serve the Supreme lord. Moksha according to him could be achieved through bhakti (a personal devotion). This brass small statue of Swami Ramanujan shows the great teacher seated with his hands folded in reverence of lord Vishnu, carrying a flag with a Vaishnava symbol drawn on it.
