Embodying the perfection of devotion, Lord Hanuman in this granite statue appears in the Namaskar-Mudra, his hands folded together near his chest and a blissful smile on his face.
A gesture of greeting and acknowledging the greatness of the other, the Namaskar mudra of Lord Hanuman is associated with the virtue of Bhakti and is often seen in the temples of Sri Rama.
Hanuman is adorned with a U-shaped Tilak, Kiritamukuta crown, round earrings or Kundala, rich necklaces and shoulder ornaments, armlets, bracelets, and a short dhoti whose soft creases are perfectly etched in the stone.
The statue is fully sculpted in the front, with the reverse depicting only half of Hanuman’s form, making the impenetrable granite stone, a befitting part of the icon of the most powerful Hindu Lord.
