Narasimhi or Pratyangira is the lion-faced Shakti of Vishnu’s Narasimha avatar and a deity whose potent powers guard the devotees against magical spells, illness, and natural calamities.
As the feminine counterpart of Narasimha, goddess Narasimhi mirrors his form, with a five-hooded serpent shading her. A long Kiritamukuta crown, ornaments, and tasseled garment adorn the goddess, who appears youthful and feminine despite her lion face.
The double pedestal, with two blooming lotuses, raises Devi Narasimhi to a striking position, from where she benevolently gazes at the worshippers as they are mesmerized by her otherworldly aura.
