Jambhala, the Buddhist equivalent of the Hindu god Kubera, is a more popular version of the Yaksha king and Lord of wealth. Though both versions of the god are pot-bellied, owners of universal riches and kings of the underworld, in Buddhism, Jambhala has been accorded a wider space, in the art of Nepal. This gilded copper Jambhala statue from Nepal shows the Yaksharaja on a lotus seat, in the Maharajalilasana. His countenance and crown showcase the brilliance of Nepalese art, in the use of stones and colors on metal art.
