A Pancha Patra is a container to store Panchamrit, a five-item sweet mixture served as Prasad. It is a combination of two Sanskrit words, Pancha, which means five, and Amrit, which means immortal or nectar of the gods. This small traditional Pancha Patra is made of silver, another sacred metal often used for serving food and other offerings to the deities. The metal is believed to enrich the food with positive energy and enhance the effect. This Pancha Patra consists of a container and a serving spoon. There are auspicious symbols carved on the body of the container. It is an essential ritual object during Pujas and Vrata’s. It is often used to serve Ghee during small-scale Homa’s (offerings made to the Fire God or Agni).
