Ardhanarishwara- the union of Shiva and Shakti which inspired Brahma’s creation, and sustain it rivettingly dance in this brass statue, symbolizing the movement of Shiva and Shakti which runs the universe. Standing on a beautiful pedestal, Ardhanarishwara is accompanied by their sons- Ganesha and Karttikeya, who witness the heavenliness of their parents in bliss and awe. Shiva is marked by a mystical black color, adorned with Jatamukuta, serpent ornaments, tiger hide, holding an Ankusha, and the gesture of fearlessness. On his left, Uma emanates a golden aura, beautified by lovely ornaments and a delicate dhoti whose folds are delineated lyrically in the statue. Uma holds a trident, highlighting her powers as the supreme goddess Durga.
Under the towering Ardhanarishwara lies a Shiva-Lingam, the aniconic union of Shiva and Shakti. The majesty of this form is surrounded by an intricately designed aureole, with the bull on Shiva’s side and a Gaja-Makara Yali on Devi’s side. Shiva is surrounded by a fiery aureole, which joins the bustling vegetation around Uma at the top, where another Shiva-lingam shaded by a five-hooded serpent is depicted.
