This wooden statue of Shadabhujadhari Shiva, also known as the six-armed Nataraja, the Lord of Dance, is a powerful and artistically rich representation of the iconic figure. It features the traditional hues of Thammampatti wood art and an antique finish. Shiva assumes a regal stance, his soft red skin glowing with the celestial light of the morning Sun.
Shiva's sacred dance engenders life, bringing forth sprouting and springtime in the wooden statue. Vegetation grows all around, creating an aureole to which is added the Kirtimukha or face of glory motif. A Gana or devotee stands to the left of the dancing Shiva, his hands folded in admiration of the Lila of the cosmic dancer.
