Tara is known as the mother of compassion, wisdom, and Healing. She is considered the female aspect of Avalokiteshvara (who possesses the compassion of all Buddhas). She is often depicted as having a beautiful youthful body and sitting on a full-blown lotus resembling the form of Goddess Lakshmi. Sitting in Vitarka mudra, she is symbolising the uninterrupted flow of wisdom. The three eyes of the goddess are signifying her ability to perceive the present, past, and future simultaneously. Adorned in regal attire, she is dressed with heavy jewellery like bracelets, necklaces, and a crown. Around Tara’s waist, there is a celestial belt, symbolising the boundless wisdom she possesses. Goddess Tara is the embodiment of maternal energy and is believed to protect and nurture the devotees, offering relief from ailments. She is venerated for her role in guiding mankind toward enlightenment.
