Nritya Ganesha is a famous illustration of the naturalism and beauty of the iconography in Swamimalai's Panchaloha bronzes.
With his muscles precisely defined, Ganesha's plump figure is exquisitely balanced on a lotus as he lifts his leg in the air.
The bronze is animated by the dancing Ganesha's full body, which is bursting with vitality, adorned with jewelry and garments whose motion adds to the dynamic quality of the bronze.
Carrying a goad, noose, tusk, and Modaka, Ganesha is adorned with a Karandamukuta (inverted basket crown) and Tripunda on the forehead.
Ganesha’s heavy form is delicately poised on his foot placed on the two-tiered lotus pedestal, with hooks on each side, traditionally used to raise the statue during temple procession, where Ganesha danced amidst a sea of devotees.
