Exuding an old-fashioned charm, displaying the classic skills of Indian shilpis (sculptors), this wooden statue of Ganesha presents the auspicious one in a four-armed Roopa, sitting on a lotus seat, which is a popular throne for divinity in the culture of India. Ganesha holds his characteristic attributes- pasha (noose), Ankush (goad), Danta (his broken tusk), and Modaka in his hands.
He is in the regal Lalitasana pose, with one leg dangling as the other folds on the throne. The seat of Ganehsa is placed on a pedestal, adding an element of splendor to the statue, with the Mushaka or rat of Ganesha sitting in his feet, in a pose that suggests devotion, infusing the composition with the virtue of Bhakti.
