It is believed that Shakyamuni Buddha himself manifested in the form of Vajradhara while imparting teachings on the tantric path to his exceptionally gifted disciples.
Vajradhara is typically depicted holding a Vajra and a bell in his left hand, while his arms are crossed in front of him, symbolizing the complete harmony of Prajna (wisdom) and Upaya (skilful means). His regal appearance includes a crown and urna (a mark on the forehead), as attributes of a Sambhogakaya Buddha.
Adorned with resplendent gold jewelry, including earrings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, and a girdle, all in shades of blue and red, Vajradhara radiates opulence. Seated in the vajra posture with interlocked legs, he rests upon a moon disc and a lotus pedestal.
