Beautifed by the natural archaic quality of granite stone, this sculpture of Lord Ganesha carries an ancient and sacred aura, infused by the presence of the auspicious Hindu god.
Ganesha sits in Maharajalilasa, a relaxed pose that amplifies the plumpness of his form, captured in the stout legs and round belly adorned with jeweled ornaments and a lotus-petal waistbelt.
With a left-curving trunk, Ganesha in this sculpture appears with all his auspicious signs- Ekdanta (single-tusked), holding a Modaka and accompanied by Mushaka, who is etched as an emblem on the granite pedestal.
