A hanging bronze lamp to grace one corner of the traditional Indian home. A series of hooks and eyes interconnected with each other. Attached to a hook at the zenith of a lamp sculpted with ornate lotus petals. Nestling amidst these petals is a set of four discrete dias (lamps) of moderate depth. Shapely, elongated mouths for the wick, each facing a cardinal direction.
This compact hanging lamp is made from pure bronze. This lends the composition a colour that resembles molten gold. As such, it will look great dangling against a solid-coloured wall, perhaps on either side of a temple. Stylistically, this hanging bronze lamp borrows from the wall and entrance decor of the temples of the Hoysala period.
Interestingly, this composition makes a great standing lamp-tray too. The tips of the elongated lotus petals form a set of legs for it. Arranging the chain neatly around it on the floor would ensure that it looks beautiful in a corner of your pooja room.
