Guru Padmasambhava is likely Nepalese Buddhism's most well-known and venerated figure, particularly for the Gelugpa sect. The gilded copper Padmasambhava statue from Nepal depicts him wearing traveler's clothing, including shoes, a robe, and a skull cap with earflaps that are turned upward by the rushing winds of the hilly area. The ethnic patterns on Padmasambhava's robes, neatly studded coral and turquoise all over and the master's neatly defined hair on the rear of the statue all attest to the artist's skill.
