Dressed in a simple, golden kafani, Shirdi Sai Baba sits on a rock, smiling benevolently and blessing his followers with his palm facing outward, the word “Om” glowing on it divinely. His miracles and kripa (divine grace) are known and revered by the entire world. In Shirdi there was an epidemic of cholera during the time Baba lived there. The people of Shirdi went to Baba, asking him to help them with this situation. When he heard this, he washed his hands and his face. Then, he took his hand mill and started grinding some wheat on it. He offered the wheat flour to the people and asked them to throw it on the borders, the wheat symbolising cholera that they throw out of the village. By his grace, cholera subsided and the people thanked Baba profusely.
Another time, before the people started following Baba, he used to light oil lamps in temples and mosques. The oil he used came from the sellers in Shirdi, who gave it to him out of their own amusement. However, they eventually stopped and then Baba used water to pour into the lamps. The lamps were lit and stayed so for the rest of the night.
