In the spiritual tapestry of Tanjore art, Shirdi Sai Baba emerges, radiating the message of unity and divine introspection. Traditional colours, enriched with the purity of 24K gold, capture his gentle essence within a teakwood frame. This artwork serves as a reminder of Sai Baba's boundless love and blessings. Allow Sai Baba's presence to grace your surroundings and infuse your life with peace and compassion.
This veneration is set further by the presence of a diya and an offering of a fruit bowl. When Baba first came to Shirdi, Maharashtra at the age of sixteen, the villagers felt a sense of calm curiosity. While a few rejected his unique ways and personality, others embraced him in their hearts readily. He lived in the village for more than five years under the shelter of a neem tree. He participated in all religious festivals and bore no ill will towards anyone. He helped every villager in whatever way he could. Even back then, many people thought of him as a holy man, a deity in his own right. Framed in gold, his saintliness shines bright.
Sitting on a bare rock that represents his humble way of life and his gentle disposition, Shirdi Sai Baba sits, wearing an orange kafani. His right-hand faces the devotee in an everlasting blessing, the word “Om” shining divinely in the Devanagari script. Representing the merging of the spirit, the body, and the mind, the Om is a spiritual, sacred symbol. There is an overarching gold entrance, studded with colourful stones, that allows the devotees to look upon Baba’s countenance and feel soothed by him.
