This miniature with royal riders displays traits of the Jodhpur style, which developed post 1750. Two royal riders, along with their helpers pass through a vast stretch of green land. The bodies of the horses reveal fine draftsmanship, though not so perfect proportion. If one of the horses is coloured in a natural shade, other is painted in white & orange, horizontally divided into two. They are well saddled and decorated with embellishments. The riders and the helpers look short and stunted. Their faces are shown in profile, with rounded foreheads, elongated eyes and slightly hooked noses distinct stylistic features of the particular Jodhpur school phase. The turbans are bulkier towards the back, decorated with jewels and feathers. Their tunics fit well and the waist cloth is tied rather up the waist, almost on the chest.
In the treatment of the background, a natural representation of distance is attempted with considerable success. The horizon is dotted with trees, giving the green mounds a defined line. The sky with curling clouds gives the impression of the setting of the blazing sun.
