Srinathji- the Lord of Nathadwara is Sri Krishna’s form as a young boy, originating from his Lila of lifting the Govardhana mountain to protect the people of Brija from Indra’s wrath. The lifted hand of the Srinathji idol represents Krishna’s hand holding the mountain as an umbrella.
This oil painting adorns Srinathji’s blue-skinned form with delicate lotuses and a long serpent whose body disappears and reappears in the clouds in the background. Various divinities and animals related to Krishna also surround Srinathji, who looks mesmerizingly divine.
