prasadam parighasi dundubhi saram bhrngaraka camaram
angulyagraja Padma pancakatarum laksmam kare daksine
vibhranam sakatau bhaje nirupaman sacyatmajam sriharim

I worship Sri Gaurahari, the son of mother Saci, whose right lotus hand-palm is decorated with these auspicious markings:
Disc, bow, barleycorn, elephant, goad, thunderbolt, these three lines-long life, auspiciousness and pleasure, palace, iron, club, sword, drum, arrow, bumblebee, whisk, two carts, and at the end of the fingers are five lotuses. Thus these twenty-three matchless markings decorate the right lotus hand-palm of Sri Gaura Hari.

vibhrana vyajanankite madakalam chatram srajam tomaram
 angulyagraja sankha pancayutam bhogadi-rekhatrayam
laksman savya-kare bhaje nirupamam sacyatmajam sriharim

I worship Sri Gaurahari, the son of mother Saci, whose left lotus hand-palm is decorated with these auspicious markings:
Half moon, plow, oxen, lotus, horse, victory-pillar, fish, swastika, fan, umbrella, garland, javelin, five conches at the ends of each finger, and three lines-long life, auspiciousness and pleasure. In this way there are twenty-one matchless signs decorating the left lotus hand-palm of Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu.

Descriptions of the markings on the lotus hands of Sri Gauracandra

Text 1-2

 sumanibandhamarabhya vakra gatyot thitantu ha

Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu's right lotus hand-palm contains the auspicious markings of a great life line-which starts from between the forefinger and middle finger of the right hand until the palm. There is a fate-line, and then an enjoyment line, which starts from the wrist and goes upwards in a crooked way, and meets with the fate-line at the connecting point of the forefinger and the thumb, and it gives all types of enjoyment to the devotees.

The tips of the fingers of His right hand contain five lotuses. Below the thumb is a barleycorn, below that is a disc, and below that is a thunderbolt, which destroys the miseries of the devotees. Below the thunderbolt is a water-pot, and below the forefinger is a beautifully visible flag.

Text 5-6

Below the flag is a whisk, and below the middle finger is a sword. Below the ring finger is an iron-club, and below that is a beautiful tree. Below that is a tree, and in order to crush the enemies of His enemies, there is an arrow. Below the little finger is an elephant goad, and below that is a beautiful palace.

Text 7-8

O mind! Please remember the right lotus-palm of Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu which is decorated with the auspicious twenty-three markings. The right hand-palm further possesses a trumpet, which is below the palace, in order to announce the glories of His devotees. Above the wrist are two carts and above these is a bow which crushes the enemies of His devotees.

Text 9-10

O mind! Please meditate always on the lotus hand-palm of Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu, decorated with the following auspicious markings:
Like the right hand, in the left hand-palm are three lines-life, fate and enjoyment. At the tips of the finger of His left hand are five beautiful conch-shells. Below the thumb is a lotus, and below that is a garland. Below the forefinger is an umbrella, and below the middle finger is a plow.

O mind! Please remember. The ring finger of His left hand has the marking of an elephant. Below the little finger is a javelin, and below that is a pillar of glory-kirti stambha. Below that is a fan and below that is an auspicious swastika. There is a horse below the great lifeline, and a bull below the fate line. Above the wrist is a fish, and above that is a half-moon. Thus there are twenty-one auspicious imprints decorating the hand-palm of Sriman Mahaprabhu.
