A horizontally elongated strip of canvas. The divine trio of Lakshmi-Ganesha-Sarasvati next to each other. Lakshmi and Sarasvati are seated on a pink and a white lotus, respectively; while Ganesha is on a throne of gold, studded with rubies and upholstered with velvet. Each of them is possessed of four hands (chaturbhujadhari).
The trio is flanked by the standing Venkateshvara figure to the left of the viewer (right of Lakshmi) and the standing Karttikeya to the right (left of Sarasvati). A total of five divine figures, in a mix of seated and standing stances, make up the composition. Proof of the skill and beauty of the artist’s workmanship lies in the level of detail introduced into each figure, despite the scale.
Every adornment on each figure is made of inlaid gold gessowork. In addition to the same, there are the hems of saree and dhoti, the trims on Sarasvati’s veena, and the crowns on their heads. Finally, the continuous archway above the head of each deity, which is studded with stones of red, green, and blue.
