The Sanskrit term "kalachakra" means "wheel of time" or "time-cycle," and it is represented by an intricate mandala that depicts the cosmos and its dimensions. It is well known for its function in fostering harmony and comprehension amongst many cultures and religions. The god has four faces: the center is angry black or blue, the right is lusty red, the left is serene white, and the back of the blackhead is meditative yellow. His twenty-four hands, eight of which are yellow, eight of which are red, and eight of which are blue, each containing a distinct symbol or object. His body is blue, while his right leg is crimson and his left leg is white, as he dances in the Alidha stance. He is seen as being angry since he is shown sitting on the crimson bodies of Rudra and Ananga.
