The army is of great pride to every Indian. It is known to have served and protected the subcontinent through thick and thin. Over the years, the standards of the Indian army in terms of armament and innovation have been continually improving. The painting that you see on this page is of the Indian army tank, an armoured combat vehicle.
The medium in which such a theme has been captured is watercolour on paper. The body of the tank is defined by layered strokes of the brush dipped in a palette of charcoal and ivory. The result is a hyper-realistic texture suggestive of steady motion of any of the main battle tanks (MBTs) of the Indian army.
There is shrubbery surrounding the narrow road ahead. A soldier stands on guard on the bosom of the tank, seemingly gazing straight at the viewer. Behind Him rises the unmistakable Indian flag, the tricolour being the only hint of colour in the composition.
