A quiet Himalayan home. Stands two storeys tall, surrounded by two outhouses and a shed at the back. The gentle Sherpa woman who lives in the house is perusing her frontyard with a stick. There is a basketful of produce on her back, which means that she may have stumbled upon something in her territory on her way back at twilight. Like the careful architecture of her home, she is sturdy and built to thrive in the harsh mountainous climate.
And what an incredible twilight. A roseate streak across the pale cerulean horizons. The same roseate tint glimmers on the snow-laden bodies of rock that rise high above her home. While she is nestled in the mid to lower range of the Himalayas, characterised by verdure-coated ridges and tall, coniferous trees, the breathtakingly beautiful upper range is clearly visible. Both rock and flora have been infused with a lifelike aspect by the artist.
