This painting depicts three court dances displaying the beauty of the human form through the consonance of postures, flexions and movements of the limbs. The one in the centre wears brightly coloured clothes, possibly being the main dancer. They are not dancing in synchrony as the movements of their limbs vary. The delicacy of the figures, the transparency of the clothes and the grace of their movements is well depicted. The bodies of all three dancers are in frontal position and their faces in profile. The motion of the painting is shown by the swinging of the long pearl strings & the flowing odhinis.
The colour plate of the artist has created a sense of mystery in the painting. The glaze of the lilac, the brilliance of the orange is juxtaposed against the firm ground beneath the dancer's feet. The foreground is uncluttered; and together with a single, bold colour, uplifts other coloured elements. The wall has several niches and dark shading at the edges maintain a degree of depth between the pillars and the wall.
