Thangkas are also widely called Paubha in the Nepal region, made by the Newar people of Nepal, which is why sometimes it is called Newari Thangkas. Most Newari Thangkas are depicted as Buddhist Deities, God, and Goddesses but there are also some representatives of Hinduism. Most Newari thangkas are usually made out of natural colors but they sometimes use gold and silver for the thangkas. This piece of Newari painting of Alokiteshvara has very specific details, in the middle there is a large depiction of Avalokitesvara in a standing position, adorned with a crown and multiple ornaments, holding three blue lotuses— a buds, a half-opened bud, and a full bloom lotus.
At the top, there are representatives of five Tathagatas (Five Great Buddhas) they are the five qualities of the first Buddha also known as Amitabha Buddha. At the right bottom, you can see White Tara holding a blue lotus, and at the left side of the painting, you can see Green Tara holding a stem of lotus in her right hand and there is a bud in her right hand.
