Long ago, there were three brothers; Dhritamstra, Pandu, and saintly Vidura. Being blind, Dhritarastra passed on the throne to his younger brother Pandu. Married Gandhari and had many children; most notably Duryodhana and Dushasana. Pandu married Kunti & Madri but was cursed to die if he tried to have children. Sharing a mantra received in her childhood with Madri, Kunti invoked the demigods and they begot five noble sons; Yudhisthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula & Sahadeva. Shortly afterwards. Overcome by desire, Pandu met his fate and died.
Legal heir to the throne, the sons of Pandu (Pandavas) remained in the care of their grandfather, Bhishma, and were raised alongside the sons of Dhritarastra.
Follow the pastimes of the righteous Pandavas and their cousin Shri Krishna, the intrigues of the envious Duryodhana, and finally the great battle of Kurukshetra that ensued.
