About The Audio CD

To that land of the Divine Lord –Meera heard her own inner voice resound through the corridors of time. The quarters of space echoed it. The call of the spirit could no longer be resisted. Meera resolved to leave Chittor. Meera’s decision caused much commotion in the mighty fortress. Horsemen flew hither and thither and elephants screamed. But Meera and her way. The unyielding gates of the fort creaked open for her. Meera moved on in the company of holy men. She reached Pushkar, where, in her brief sojourn, Meera wondered at the vagaries of fortune, which ruled over the existential aspects of life and the world. For Meera the essential alone mattered. And from the essential to the quintessential she resolutely moved on.

From Pushkar Meera went to Vrindavan. She crossed the desert and reached the outskirts of Vrindavan. Papeeha, a symbol of true love, greeted her. But a creature of Nature could hardly fathom the depths of Divine love. Meera asked the bird to go its own way.

The home of devotional music, Vrindavan recalled to Meera’s mind the Divine Love of Shri Krishna, her beloved deity. She realized that the sportive Lord was also the Elusive One, difficult to attain.

Her musings led Meera into a state of ecstatic dream. The sport of Radha Krishna inspired her to sing of the Divine Pair. But the dream, alas, did not last. Meera left Vrindavan for Mathura. The rains came and the stream of life, Yamuna flowed on. Meera decided to go to Dwarka in pursuit of her Elusive Lord. Wilderness lay between her and Dwaraka. The pangs of separation she suffered were acute and unbearable. Meera appealed to Mother Nature to free her from the shackles of birth and mortality. She crossed the vale of sorrows. And at last she found herself standing at the gates of Eternity. Into the land of her Divine Lord, she passed.
