Two volume of this Diary under the title “With the Three Masters” have already been printed and these have proved very popular with readers, both in India and abroad. The present volume the third and the last of the series contains a record of event of period from April 1948 to August 1956. There are more ways than one of presenting the life story of an eminent person, but the method adopted by the author of the Diary Rai Sahb Munshi Ram is indeed unique and of such absorbing interest that one does not feel like laying aside the book without going through to the end of it. This part contains an according of the events pertaining to Sardar Bahadur Jagat Singh Ji Maharaj and the present Master Sardar Charan Singh Ji Maharaj.
Rai Sahib Munshi Ram the Author of the Diary needs no introduction, as readers have already become acquainted with him through reading volumes I and II of the Diary. For several years he served the three Masters as Secretary, very creditably and devotedly. His exceptional intellect, utter humility, simple living, abiding love and bondless devotion, had greatly endeared him to the public and his high sense of duty and sterling honesty had earned for him great merit and reputation with Government. Through the grace of his Gracious Satguru, he had been blessed with the wealth of both the worlds.
The original Diary was written in Urdu and has been printed as such. At the gracious instance of the Present Master, Professor M.S. Bhatnagar has translated this Diary into English eliminating such portions as would be of little interest to the Western mind, Mr. Joseph Leeming of Washingon (USA) has carefully edited the translation and Miss Louise Hilger of Chicago (USA) has typed the manuscript. Prof. Bhatnagar has seen the book through the press and we are greatly beholden to them all for their labour of love in the service of the Master.
