About the Author Abhirup Bhattacharya is a graduate in fashion technology from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kolkata, and has earned his MBA in finance from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai. He started his career in the apparel sector in Egypt and has a diverse experience serving in IT consulting, payment system and risk advisory. He has his own management blog (Ideasmakemarket.com) which focuses on guiding B-school aspirants and students.

Abhirup's family consists of his father, elder brother and sister-in-law. He is passionate about reading business books, writing stories and watching movies and cricket. He hails from the city of joy, Kolkata, and presently lives in Mumbai.

Prologue Hi, I am Abhirup. Like most Indians, I am a die-hard cricket fan and I make it a point to watch every game that India plays. A management graduate and a consultant by profession, I am tech-savvy and frequently track scores on my mobile app.

My obsession with cricket started during my school days when the hopes of a billion Indians rested on the shoulders of Sachin Tendulkar. The maestro inspired countless Indians into taking up the game as a career option, some of whom went on to excel. Post Tendulkar's retirement though, I, like many others, felt that cricket will never be the same in our lives. After all, there was no player now for whom we could chant 'Sachin...Sachin....'

It was at this juncture that we saw the rise of a new legend in the making-Virat Kohli. His consistency across various formats and the sheer force with which he plans his innings is a model to behold in the modern era. He has re-captivated the attention of the 1990s' generation to the TV screen just like the time of Sachin when he used to be on the crease.
