What the Sun Said Last... and Other Poems is a collection of the representative poetic corpus of Erode Tamilanban, eminent Tamil poet, reflecting his poetic finesse, humanism, social vision, righteous indignation and philosophical musings. Some of the poems in this collection are from his Sahitya Akademi Award-winning collection Vanakkam Valluva.
Erode Tamilanban (b. 1933) is a Tamil poet and writer. After his first book Silirppugal was published in 1970 he went on to write more than 40 books spanning 5 decades. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award for his collection of poems Vanakkam Valluva (Greetings, Valluvar) published in 2000. He has also worked as a newsreader for Doordarshan.
K.S. Subramanian (b.1937) served in the Government of India for nearly one and a half decades before retiring as Director of Asian Development Bank. He has translated extensively from Tamil to English and has over 35 literary works encompassing novels, short novels and collections of poetry, short stories and essays to his credit. His writings on literary, social and development themes have appeared in seven volumes.
