The second book in A vision of India series is on Gujarat one of the 28 states of the India Union. Gujarat is an interesting state. Laying on the west coast of India it has been a gateway for trade and commerce. Its monuments are rich in history in its forests roars the majestic lion it has hills with temples reaching to the sky a holy land where lord Krishna Established his kingdom the land of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel home of artistic handicrafts and colorful adivasis.

Gujarat is a progressive state both in agriculture and industry. Its people have business acument and in the held of co-operatives the state has a leading place.

Of the seven Union Territories of India Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli lie just across from Gujarat or have a common border. They have therefore also been included in this book.
