This is a book by Dr V. K. Chauhan, who is an eminent clinician and academician. The book contains multiple choice questions on all twelve subjects of homeopathy, which have been collected from previous year's examination for the aspirants of UPSC and MD (Hom.) to help them crack their examination with minimum hassles. The explanations and details for the correct choice of the answer are mentioned along with the answer, which saves the time of going back to the books and referring to the source. The references of the explanation have also been given with the book's name and chapter name, which makes the authenticity of the book more valid than any such work available in the market.
There are chapters on ‘Various Organizations of Homoeopathy in India’, ‘History of Homoeopathy in India’ ;‘Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia’, which are useful for the interviews for UPSC and MD entrance examination.
Dr V.K. Chauhan, was the Principal of Dr B.R. Sur Homoeopathic Medical College, Delhi. He was formerly working as a Professor in Medicine and Paediatrics Department at Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College. He has undergone training at various institutions in India, UK and USA. In recent times there has been a growing need for objective assessment of knowledge and it is best done with good Multiple Choice Question Papers. The MCQ’s help in discriminating accurately between candidates on the basis of their knowledge of the topics being tested in shortest possible time. The most important function of any MCQ is to rank candidates accurately and fairly according to their performance in that paper.
Keeping in view the above objective, this work has been undertaken. It mainly contains the MCQ’s from the test papers of UPSC and State Public Service Commission as well as from PG Entrance Examinations in Homeopathic and Allopathic Institutions.
One should remember that the Multiple Choice Questions are not designed to trick or confuse any anyone but they are designed to test the knowledge in the subject concerned. Therefore, one should not try to look for the problems that aren’t there.
While attempting to solve MCQ's one should follow the five most important points:
1. Read the questions carefully and be sure that you understand it.
2. Mark your responses clearly, correctly and accurately.
3. Use reasoning to work out answers, but if you do not know the answer it is better to leave it, especially when there is a provision of negative marking for wrong answers.
4. Good marks can only be obtained by having a basic and wide knowledge in the subject concerned.
5. One should be aware of the time constrain while solving the MCQ’s.

It gives me great pleasure to present to the profession the 3rd Volume of ‘*MCQ’s for UPSC & MD Entrance in Homeopathy’ To clear the Test is not a game of change, there are no shortcuts, it is just continuous hard work and mastery over the subject matter which can help you excel. The maxim ‘no pains no gains’ absolutely fits here. The current book contains MCQ’s from the examinations conducted for MD Entrance and UPSC
in past. The book covers all the subjects, and answers to the question are well referenced from established popular textbooks. Readers are requested to practise well before they go into the test. To be successful apart from the knowledge, one has to learn time management. To come out with good scores readers are requested to plan their strategies and tackle as many previous years questions as possible.
