Back of the Book

The Mind Problem: An instrument when out of tune is harsh and offensive; it impedes our endeavors and actions.

The Japa Solution: A technique to bring that mind in line with its better self, providing fertile areas for growth and empowerment to achieve our goals.

In 'Tune in the Mind; Swami Chinmayananda guides us on how we can use the Gayatri Mantra, explaining its meaning and the method by which we can include it in our japa to tune and fine-tune the mind and harness its infinite potential.

On realizing the true purpose of life, he worked tirelessly and with tremendous energy for more than four decades to spread the message of Vedanta. A great orator, writer, leader, patriot and spiritual giant, he is one of the finest representatives of Indian spiritual heritage. The sprawling worldwide organization of Chinmaya Mission carries on the torch lit by this great saint.

Preface

This book contains Sankara bhasya on Gayatri mantra on page 29 to 39, considering the fact that Gayatri mantra is the king of mantras and Sankara bhasya is the most authoritative and accepted commentary wherever available in this edition, we have added transliteration as well as word meaning to the bhasya. We do hope that the sincere spiritual seekers would find it more useful.

Diacritical marks are used for transliteration of Sanskrit words in the commentary. The English plural sign’s’ has been added to untranslated Sanskrit words. A key to the transliteration and pronunciation has been added in the begining of the book.
