A great need hankered after for long by the devotees of Lord Murugan, can be said firmly to have been fulfilled by this book amply. That is to say that books kind of travelogue to enlighten the features of six garrison abodes of Lord Murugan required by a pilgrim have been a long felt necessity remained not catered to so far.

The necessity felt in its true dimension, the H.R and C.E has now come forward to bring out such series of books in English in order to cater to the needs of people in general of the interest with special slant especially to the outlandish devotees. It felt that not alone touristic information about the holy places but also that required to throw light on matters such as construction and configuration of a temple, precious sculpturesque wonders, details of culture and convention to be elicited from the recesses and the historic and religious literatures relevant to the temple.

Hence in the series of such wonderous books that on Thirupparangkundram has now been endeavoured to be published firstly for the benefits of the devotees which would be followed suit for other five abodes of Lord Murugan.
