A Text Book of Educational Technology. today, has occupied an important place in the field of education and almost all the Universities of India have introduced it in the syllabus of not only M.Ed., M.A. (Education) but B.Ed. courses too This book is written for a course in educational technology for post-graduate students in education. It can also be profitably used by B.Ed. students.
The main text of the book consists of seventeen chapters, each of which deals with a different aspect of educational technology. Research on how people learn suggests that students should be introduced to a topic before studying it in depth.
A content outline at the beginning of each chapter acquaints the reader with the organization and content of each chapter. A summary at the end of each chapter is designed to enable the reader to recapitulate the main points of the chapter's content followed by self- assessment.
It is my hope and expectation that students and teachers will use this book as a reference and that it will serve as a bridge between the world of research on educational technology and the practical world of the classroom.
A glossary of terms used in educational technology has been provided to the reader's convenience. Finally, a bibliography section and appendices have been included in order to increase the usefulness of this book. The present book can thus serve as a handbook for teacher educators, teachers and students.
