This book of Kriya shareeram consists of all the points explainedin Ayurvedic syllabus of Kriya shareera. Shareera Kriya includes the descriptions about dosha, dhatu and malas. The theory of tridosha forms the foundation of Ayurveda. In this text there is an explanation of human body through the principles of vata, pitta kapha, Sapta dhatus and trimalas, keeping in view some of the processes as explained by modern science without detriment to the main concept postulated in Ayurveda. The book includes some of the Ayurveda and some of the modern physiology points.

This book is written strictly according to the curriculum framed by the NCISM for BAMS graduates. Part A and Part B are explained separately, covering all the syllabus points. Each topic is explained in simple English with suitable shlokas along with appropriate figures and tables. The book is written in simple English with a new printing technique. Images and tables are more, which will help a student for quick grasping.

NCISM has framed a new syllabus where all the syllabus points are divided into 3 heads as MK(Must to know), DK (Desirable to know) and NK (Nice to know). At the end of every chapter summary of whole chapter in the form of some points is expected by NCISM. The same is explained in the book, which will be beneficial for the student This book is prepared to collect the entire syllabus of Kriya shareera in a single book and hope it will fulfill the curiosity aspires of UG and PG scholars.

She is a post graduate in Ayurveda Siddhant from the esteemed Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.

She is a daughter of Shri. Vijay. B. Kulkarni and Smt. Susheela, born at Bijapur, Karnataka.

She has vast experience of teaching Shareera kriya and served in various reputed colleges of Karnataka. She has published many articles in various journals, has given many talks as resource person in many national, international level seminars. She has guided more than 20 post graduate students. Shehas served as examiner and question paper setter for RGUHS Karnataka, Amrutha University, Kerala & MUHS, Maharashtra for UG and PG students. Presently she is working as Professor and head in the department of Shareera kriyain esteemed institution named Shri Dharmastala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan Karnataka.

He is a post graduate in Samhita from the esteemed Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. He is the son of Vaidya. Mayur. P. Vaidya and Smt. Jayalakshmi, born at Haveri, Karnataka.

He has rendered his service as a teacher in Samhita & Siddhanta in various reputed colleges and has been instrumental in successfully initiating many learners to study Samhitas. He is imparting Ayurveda knowledge to B. A. M. S & Post Graduate students. The articles that he has published in dailies, magazines and journals are a true guide in leading the learners to perfection. Apart from these he is a Manuscriptologist and has established Manuscript museum and laboratory which is considered as one of the best. The ongoing researches in the area of Manuscriptology suggest his command and encourage the scholars in undertaking Manuscripts for the research work.

Presently he is working as Professor and head in the department of Samhita & Siddhanta in esteemed institution named Shri Dharmastala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan Karnataka.

Kriya Sharira (Human Physiology) is an essential subject of BAMS curriculum. It is a subject meant for the study of normal functioning of the human body. The aim of Ayurveda is to maintain health of a healthy individual as well as to treat manifested disease. For the fulfilment of both the aims, understanding of sharira is very important.

Normal functioning of the body is understood as kriya shareera. When scholars are well versed with normal functions, then only abnormalcy can be diagnosed, for treatment. Shareera is made up of dosha, dhatu and mala and understanding these is the subject known as Sharira Kriya.

The subject Sharira Kriya Vigyana is the most important subject of syllabus of the undergraduate and post graduate courses of Ayurveda. Extensive study of theory and practical of this subject is very necessary for scholars of Ayurveda. The works of a physician in all the times is to keep the body (sharira) in healthy state. Study of the subject Kriya shareera is helpful for such act.

Sharira is made up of 13 constituents which are dosha, dhatu and mala. Dosha are three, dhatu are seven, mala are three. Sharira is based upon these thirteen components. Kriya sharira deals with their properties, functions, location and all other related aspects of these components with their applied aspect is part of Kriya sharira.

Apart from dosha, dhatu mala it also covers many aspects such as srotas, prakrati, kriyakala, agni, koshtha etc. The scholars in I profession learn these all conceptual aspects with their applications. When the scholar become well versed in these fundamental principles then it will be easy for them to comprehend clinical applications.

Present Kriya Sharira syllabus tells about some systems and other aspects of Modern Physiology. It is required to understand diseases in contemporary view and to understand the diseases in a better way.
