"Text Book on Kriya Sharira Volume 1" includes wide range of concepts of Kriya Sharira in both Ayurveda and Modern perspectives as per Board of Ayurveda, NCISM New Delhi. This book deals here in rational and sincere manner which will be useful for the student for academic purpose and for clinical purpose too. All topics are made suitable for the reader for the better understanding of Kriya Sharira concepts. All the essential Shlokas regarding all the topics related to Kriya Sharira are included along with its explanations based on various commentaries, multiple choice question and important questions chapter wise. Topics related to Ayurvedic part of Kriya Sharira are presented in various tabulation and other representative techniques for the easy and better understanding of scholars. Mnemonics, schematic and diagrammatic representations are included for the easy understanding of Ayurveda and Modern physiological concepts. This book also clears the doubts regarding various controversial topics of Kriya Sharira.

Dr. Vedmani Pandey, by the grace of Lord Shri Sita Ram is a renowned Ayurvedic Physician and Ayurvedic academician, has crowned his BAMS (2007) from Rajkiye Ayurvedic College Atarra, Banda (UP) by securing first rank in all profs. of BAMS and also got JIVAKA AWARD for first rank in BAMS followed by MD in Kriya Sharira (2013) from Rajkiye Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Lucknow, UP. The book is inspired from my thesis work with title as "Contributions of Ayurveda Dipika by Chakrapani on Kriya Sharira: A Critical Study". Worked as Assistant Professor in Department of Kriya Sharira at Shri Ramchandra Vaidya Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Chinhat, Lucknow, UP. He also helped many scholars to achieve their goals in Ayurveda PG entrance examinations and UPPSC etc. Currently he is working as Medical Officer, at Rajkiye Ayurvedic Chikitsalaya, Tiloi, Amethi, UP. He is an eminent speaker and published many articles in National and International Peer Reviewed journals.

Dr. Bargale Sushant Sukumar completed Graduation (2006) and Post Graduation in Swasthavritta (2010) and Ph.D. in Ayurveda (Swasthavritta) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bangalore, Karnataka. He completed M. Sc. (Yoga) from Periyar University (PRIDE), Salem Tamil Nadu and M.Sc. (Psychology) from Madurai Kamaraj University, Tamil Nadu. Currently he is working in Department of Swasthavritta and Yoga at Sri. Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital Hassan, Karnataka. He has published many articles in National and International Peer Reviewed journals and presented good number of papers in various International and National conferences.

Dr. Shashirekha H. K. completed Graduation (2006) and Post-Graduation in Ayurveda Samhita (2010) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bangalore, Karnataka and Ph.D in Ayurveda (Samhita) from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeta, Pune Maharashtra. M.A. (Sanskrit) from Karnataka State Open University Mysore, Karnataka, M.Sc. (Psychology) from Madurai Kamaraj University, Tamil Nadu and M. Sc. (Yoga) from Periyar University (PRIDE), Salem Tamil Nadu. She published many articles in various Peer Reviewed Inter-national Journal. Currently she is working as Head and Associate professor in Department of Samhita and sanskrit at Faculty of Ayurveda, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. She is acclaimed teacher for Graduate, Post Graduate and Ph.D scholars.

Kriya Sharira (Human Physiology) is an important subject of the BAMS program for the undergraduate students of Ayurveda. The term sharira means 'in the sharira' or 'related to the sharira' thus Sharira Kriya deals with the study of the human body concerning its physiological norms i.e., the functioning of the human body in its normal state. This subject refers to the physiology and biochemistry of contemporary medical science.

The Swasthya of an individual is based on 3 pillars of the body i.e., dosha, dhatu & mala. Kriya Sharir subject mainly deals with these 3 pillars. The basic concepts, knowledge, and applicability of Tridosha (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), Sapta Dhatus (Rasa, Rakta, Mamsa, Meda, Asthi, Majja, Shukra), and Trimala (Mutra, Purish, Sweda) are very important in the critical understanding of the disease. Kriya Sharira also deals with Prakriti, Strotas, Kostha, Agni, Oja, Mana, Aahar (Basic principles of food). Shatkriyakal, the system-wise study of contemporary science, senses function and dysfunction, etc. All these fundamental topics are essential for the proper understanding of etio-pathogenesis, diagnosis of disease, and its management which will be covered in para-clinical and clinical subjects.
