About the Author

Dr. Safeer Alam is presently working as Professor & Head Animal Genetics & Breeding at Sher-e Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir, J & K having 13th position among ICAR accredited Agricultural and Anima sciences/Veterinary Universities in India. Prof. Alam is having more than 25 years of experience in extension, teaching, training and research in the field of animal sciences besides administration at different level in various agricultural organizations. Dr Alam has guided number of MVSc and PhD students in his field of specialization. He has been honored, recognition and awarded for his services and contribution by various research and development organizations/societies of India including Department of A.H., Dairying and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers welfare, Government of India.

DR. M. Tufail Banday was born on 22nd, August 1962 in Srinagar (J&K) and did his schooling from Srinagar. He did his B.V.Sc &A.H in the year 1986 securing Ist Class from Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University Hydrerabad. He obtained his Masters of Veterinary Science in Poultry Science from University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore in the year 1989 with first class. He obtained his Doctoral degree from Central Avian Research Institute, Izatnagar, Barielly in the Year 1997. Subsequently he joined Department of Animal Husbandry, Jammu & Kashmir and served as Veterinary Assistant Surgeon for a short period. He joined as Assistant Professor in Poultry Science in F.V.Sc & A.H Shere Kashmir University of Agricultural University Of Kashmir in the year 1989 and has been serving in university from last 28 years. He also served as Associate Director Extension (Animal Sciences), SKUAST-K for 6 years. At present, he has been serving as Professor & Head of Division of Livestock Production Management in Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Shere Kashmir Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir from last 8 years.

Dr. M. Moin Ansari is currently working as Professor-cum-Chief Scientist and imparting teaching, research, extension & clinical activities at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir, a premier Agricultural University of Jammu and Kashmir, India. He has over 20 years of experience of teaching, research, extension education and administration. During this period he has served College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at India's foremost Agricultural University Gobind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. He has extended his services as specialist/consultant to the Zoological Park; Pet-clinic, Patna and World Bank funded Diversified Agricultural Support Project, Uttarakhand.
