About The Book

The book is a collection of some of the papers that were presented by the author at various International and National Conferences and Seminars. They broadly highlight author's foray in the world of Indian mysticism. metaphysics, Tantra and Veda that form the essence of Indian Cultural and Philosophical thinking. Tantra and Veda are warp and woof and mysticism is a central principle that preserved and made Indian culture and civilization alive and vibrant. The theme that runs in these papers essentially try to explain that life is a narrative of cosmic drama of which Cosmic Consciousness (Brahman) is the choreographer and witnessing entity. Cosmic Consciousness (Brahman) is the substance and substratum of cosmic drama. All science and philosophy are geared to understand and unravel Ontological Mysticism. This is a sublime task that Indian saints and seers have been trying to explore and experience through ages. This book highlights the core values of Indian Culture such as universal brotherhood, tolerance, compassion, non-violence and humanism.

Preface

This analects is a collection of some of the papers that were presented at various international and national conferences and seminars and published as part of their proceedings. They broadly highlight my foray into the world of Indian mysticism, metaphysics, Tantra and Veda that form the essence of our cultural and philosophical thinking. The theme that runs in these papers essentially tries to explain that life is a narrative of cosmic drama of which God (Brahman) is the choreographer and witnessing entity. He is the substance and substratum of cosmic drama and the "end of all knowledge" as Raman Maharsi says and the only Truth and Reality. All science and philosophy are geared to understand and unravel His ontological mysticism. This is a task that seekers have been trying to explore and experience through ages. In my own humble way, I have also made some efforts to comprehend the truth and reality of His being. It is a hazardous journey that I embarked upon, traversing wheels of fire in search of truth and salvation.

This analect is my humble presentation to the world of academia and the common masses. I do not claim any originality. It only reflects my stray thoughts. Despite being a village boy, I have had the fortune of meeting and interacting with some of the greatest minds of India like Swami Muktananad, Anand Mayi Ma, Gopinath Kaviraj, Dr. Karan Singh, Hon'ble Rajnath Singh, Venkat Raman, Morarjee Desai, General K.M. Cariappa, Bhairo Singh Sekhawat, S. Nijalingappa, Somnath Chatterjee, Satyen Bose, Radha Binod Pal, Suniti Kumar Chatterjee, Humayun Kabir, Ashok Mehta, Samar Guha, Nath Pai, Madhu Limaye, KM Munshi, JP, Ram Manohar Lohia, Hem Barua, Nanaji Deshmukh, UP Singh, Gulzari Lal Nanda, Ajay Ghosh, D.S. Kothari, S.C. Dubey, L.P. Vidyarthi, R.S. Srivastava, H.S. Gill, G.C. Pandey, Natwar Singh, V. C. Pandey, Lokesh Chandra, Digvijay Singh, Amrita Pritam, Yashwant Singh, Ajay Singh, D.Y. Patil, Muchkund Dubey, Basavaraja Patil, Pranab Mohanthy, Shashi Ranjan Sahu, M.A. Baby, P.C. Halder, K.N. Rao and K.M. Singh. I was also greatly inspired by Chandrasekhar, the Renaissance Man of Modern Indian History. He was a phenomenal mind. I was highly impressed by his vision of India as a secular, socialist and democratic country and had the fortune of enjoying his immense love, affection and trust. Kamal Morarka who had a great mind and was a visionary and thinker, often shared the vision of his mentor Chandrasekhar. He considered socialism and democracy as the foundation of India. He would say that any deviation from this fundamental principle to alter the political grammar and trajectory of the multi-cultural fabrics and ethos of India would be disastrous for National Unity. In this context, it may not be out of place to quote the economist and diplomat JK Galbraith "The Indian commitment to the semantics of socialism is at least as deep as ours to the semantics of free enterprises". All these intellectuals have enriched my life and thought. I owe a debt of gratitude to all of them. I am equally grateful to Mrs. Bharati Morarka for her help and encouragement in my academic pursuits. She is a woman of culture, courage and compassion, a thinker and a social activist.
